Reviews
'Great way to understand, follow and support your baby's development. It saves my sanity because it explains why my happy baby has suddenly become grumpy and whingey, as well as when the grumpy period is likely to be over!'
This book was fantastic and very helpful. The authors took the results of a giant study that indicated a correlation between certain weeks of a baby's life and difficult behaviors (excessive crying etc...) Each section describes what behaviors to expect, theories behind why they may take place (suddenly being able to see for example), and suggestions for activities parents can do to sooth, entertain, and challenge baby. I marked the week before each wonder week on my calendar and read each section out loud so my husband and I knew what to expect and how to cope with and help our baby.'

Dr. Frans X. Plooij (born 1946) is co-author of “The Wonder Weeks!”. Together with his wife, dr. Hetty van de Rijt († 2003), they came in 1992 to the realisation that the mental development of babies and infants takes place in leaps and bounds. Frans and Hetty were convinced that parents should learn about their discovery as soon as possible.
They decided to make their findings available, not only to the professional audience but also to the general public. The idea for “The Wonder Weeks!” was born. For years, “The Wonder Weeks!” was one of the bestselling books. Frans X. Plooij, the internationally recognized expert in the field of early childhood development, is a committed father and for several years also grandfather of three grandchildren.
